Lip Service to MulticulturalismDocile Bodies of the Modern OrganizationNorthern Illinois University Troubled by the superficiality of most organizational efforts designed to embrace multi-culturalism, the author argues that despite the substantial allocation of resources, the quest for multiculturalism has amounted to little real organizational change. Foucaults theory of "docile bodies" (1995) is used to illustrate that true multiculturalism is an improbable goal when paired with the extant view of efficiency and authority in modern organizations.
